The perfect hall exists. Each house has its own distribution and size, so we cannot establish a standard strategy. However, when designing a hall there are a couple of points to take into account:
1. Aesthetics
A priori it must be coherent with the rest of the home, it must be a prelude to what follows.
2. Functionality
The hall fulfills the basic function of receiving both visitors and the tenants themselves. It has a social, storage and distributive function.
How can we design a hall?
1. Storage area
Deciding the ideal storage place for our hall is also differentiating between four types of objects that coexist in it.
An area to hang street clothes. It can be with hooks on the wall, open shelves, closets or shoe racks. A space to place small objects such as keys or mail. An umbrella stand. Wall accessories to hang large objects such as a bike or stroller.
2. The details
An original piece such as an antique or a piece of art can be an emblematic element that characterizes the hall.
3. A lighting strategy
If we have natural light, even if it is derived from a room at the end of a hallway, a mirror can help us rescue the glare of this light. If, on the other hand, we do not have natural light, the hall is a good place to place a small unique floor lamp with an armchair or a table lamp.
4. The five senses
When entering a home, the five senses are activated, so there is nothing better than taking care of them through smells, colors and textures.
