Christmas home decoration

With the arrival of the cold and the month of December, the Christmas spirit begins to be felt, both on the streets and in many homes. The classic Christmas tree, garlands or poinsettias are some of the most common decorative elements that are usually integrated during these dates, but there is more. At Aliseda Real Estate we give you some decoration proposals for your home this Christmas.

If there is a star element in the decoration of these dates, it is the Christmas tree. Surprise your guests this Christmas by decorating your home with a natural Christmas fir tree. After the holidays you can always plant it in the garden of your house, in the mountains or call the nursery closest to your home to have them pick it up. They will know how to give it a second life.

In the same way that we cannot begin to build a house from the roof, we cannot begin to decorate a Christmas tree by placing the smallest ornaments. At Aliseda we recommend that you put up the lights, ribbons and garlands first and then all those smaller decorations.

Regardless of where you have placed the tree, don't limit the decoration to a single space. Fill the entire house with light and color with details in typical colors of these dates such as green, red or mustard. Also try placing lights or garlands in other corners, such as above the fireplace or on the stairs. To achieve a more elegant and sophisticated result, opt for a single decorative line in white, gold or silver tones.

In the bedroom, you can cover your bed with a blanket or integrate cushions in seasonal colors and fabrics such as tartan. You can also add a wool rug to give it a warm and cozy touch, and other accessories on the headboard, on the closet doors or on the nightstands.

Another corner of your house that you can decorate is the hall. If you have a dresser at the entrance to your home, place candles, figures or even a poinsettia on it. Try giving a special touch to the entrance by placing a Christmas wreath on either side of the door.

A tradition that we cannot miss is the placement of a Christmas Nativity Scene, also known as a Manger. You can ride one in the company of the little ones in the house. They will surely have a lot of fun placing each of the figures and giving a realistic tone to the mountains and roads with moss, sawdust and breadcrumbs.

The Christmas table

Some of the best moments and memories of our lives take place around a table. During these dates, it is not only important to create a menu that surprises our guests, but it is also essential to pay attention to other details related to its aesthetics.

One of the key elements on the table is the tablecloth. If you want to give a classic touch to your Christmas lunches and dinners, you can opt for the traditional white linen tablecloth and the most beautiful crockery and cutlery you have. All this combined with gold or silver decorations, as well as a centerpiece made with fir branches, moss or seasonal flowers.

If you have a lot of diners, try creating your own tableware by mixing pieces of different shapes and styles. As an alternative to the classic white tablecloth, there are plain colored tablecloths or printed tablecloths. In the latter case, find balance by playing with the shapes and tones of the prints and make your tableware stand out by adding a base plate.
